Admission is extremely competitive especially with the tremendous rise in the demand for engineering career in India. Around 2 lac students take a part in a nationwide open Entrance test and generally the top most students in and around the region are admitted. Presently, the entrance is through the nationwide conducted AIEEE.

The admission to three years diploma course shall be made on the basis of merit of Joint Entrance Test (JET) conducted by State Board of Technical Education, Punjab, Chandigarh; provided the candidates are otherwise eligible for admission.
